A topographical study on the history and antiquities of Walsall, a market town in the West Midlands County, historically part of Staffordshire. This volume includes notes on the contemporary improvements of the town, as well as a correct account of the trial of an appeal against a poor's rate which took place in 1813, and entertaining anecdotes of eminent characters of the town. Illustrated with a folding plate to the frontispiece. By Thomas Pearce. Collated, complete. CONDITION In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, a little rubbed. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Light bumping to the extremities. Lacking the spine label. Hinges are starting but firm. Label to the front paste down. Spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bund. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots. Ink inscription to the head of the title page.
