The 5 Cartridges were listed as new. I received 5 cartridges and found that two of the plastic packages were already opened. I would not have ordered if the listing had said the packages were already opened, because I have no way of knowing if they are new until I start to run water through them. I have not tried them (because I already have a filter installed) so I can only take the sellers word that they are indeed new. The seller seems genuine to me.
