RARE Eaton's Canada 1947-8 Fall-Winter Leather Bound Catalog Winn. R.M. Pinfold condition - see the photos for best description of condition, any wear is shown - ORIGINAL catalogue from the 40s.... BUT... this is a leather bound issue used by Eaton's management in the Winnipeg store, issued to the store manager, R.M. Pinfold. Mr. Pinfold served a total of 45 yrs with Eaton's, ending his career in Oct 1957 . He was with Eaton's for 35 yrs. when presented this leather bound copy of their catalog. Like all Eaton's catalogues, it contains a wealth of photographs showing fashions, housewares and styles of the times. Interior pages are pristine, colors are sharp and bright - 542 pages complete! Spine has a trip of old masking tape on it, original to the office it was kept in - it is peeling off. Can be removed professionally, to protect the leather. In 1947, Canada had only 9 provinces, as shown on the opening page of the catalogue. The 10th province, Newfoundland and Labrador, joined Confederation in 1949. The original provinces were Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba were later added, along with Prince Edward Island and British Columbia. thanks for viewing my item! Product was as described and it arrived much faster than originally predicted. Seller packaged it properly in bubble wrap to avoid any breakage during shipping. It appears to be a true original. I also entered the pictures and details into Chatgpt which checked the product number and seller details for me and said it appears to be authentic. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. I would buy from this seller again.
