Here is a controversial New York Comicon limited edition of Super 7's 4" Shogun Godzilla in a glow edition that recalls the James Bama's retouched red lipped box art of the 1972 Aurora square box Godzilla styrene model kit. While I am enthused about the convergence of nostalgic monster toy elements in this sweet little figure, it seems more serious collectors are put off by the combination of two different 1970s Godzilla collectibles into one figure. But I cannot resist any of these elements, from the vivid back panel Aurora art redux to the faithful recreation of the Shogun Godzilla in miniature, and hopefully if you have read this far you will not be able to either.
